How Kova Keeps You Safe
Every safety measure on this page is active and enforced right now. Not a promise. Not a roadmap item. Here’s exactly what protects you on Kova.
When you sign up for Kova your account starts in a pending state. You won't be able to participate in a Pulse until your identity has been reviewed and approved. Every single user goes through this. No one skips the line. Bots and catfish don't make it through.
The Pulse is a live video call. Not a pre-recorded video. Not filtered photos. Not a curated highlight reel. You see exactly who you're talking to, in real time, from the very first interaction. There is no hiding behind a screen on Kova.
Taking screenshots or recording live Pulse calls is not allowed, and Kova enforces this automatically, not just as a policy. During any live call, screen capture is actively blocked. If a violation is detected the call ends immediately, the violating account is suspended for 24 hours, and the other person is notified with a clear explanation of what happened. You are never left wondering why a call ended.
The chat screen is intentionally excluded from this protection so you can always screenshot harassment evidence for reporting purposes.
Every round of a Pulse requires both people to actively choose to continue. If either person doesn't want to go further the call ends, no awkward explanation required. Four rounds. Four chances to decide. You are always in control of how far it goes.
Kova limits every user to five active matches at a time. This isn't a restriction. It's a design choice. Fewer matches means every connection gets real attention. You're not swiping through a crowd. You're engaging with people who actually matter.
You can report any Pulse partner directly after a call or from within your chat at any time. Every report includes a reason selection so our team knows exactly what happened. Reports are taken seriously. Accounts that violate community standards are suspended or permanently removed.
You can block any user at any time from their profile or from within chat. A blocked user can never match with you, contact you, or appear in your Pulse queue again. The block is immediate and permanent.
Other users on Kova can only ever see your public profile: your name, age, city, bio, interests, and photos. Your email address, phone number, and any other private account information is never visible to other users under any circumstances. This is enforced at every level of the app, not just hidden in the interface.
Accounts that violate Kova's community standards are suspended, not just warned. A suspended account is locked out of the app entirely with a clear explanation of why and a live countdown showing exactly when access returns. There is no workaround. There is no appeal process for automated safety violations.
Your verification status, subscription tier, and suspension status are protected at every level of the platform. No one, including technically sophisticated users attempting to manipulate the app, can alter their account standing, fake a verified status, or bypass a suspension. These controls exist at the platform level, not just the interface.
Levels of Verification
Every Kova account moves through a multi-step verification process before it can participate in a Pulse. No one skips a step. No one gets a shortcut.
Every account starts with a confirmed email address. This is the first gate — no email, no account.
A one-time code is sent to your phone via SMS. This ties your account to a real, reachable number.
A live selfie is captured and analyzed in real time to confirm you are a real person, not a photo or video. Facial liveness detection prevents bots and stolen images from passing.
Only triggered if the selfie liveness check fails or returns an ambiguous result. A trained reviewer manually inspects the submission to make the final call.
A government-issued ID is matched against your selfie to confirm your identity and age. This is the final and strongest layer of verification.
Kova partners with trusted third-party verification providers to complete these steps. Your data is processed securely by these vendors for verification purposes only and is never sold or shared for advertising.
