The Pulse: Complete Identity Verification is Live

When I set out to build Kova, the core belief was that real connection starts with a real face. For a platform designed around live, face-to-face chemistry, building an architecture you can trust means ensuring that every single person you connect with is exactly who they say they are. There is no room for bad actors, spam bots, or fake profiles when you go live.

That is why I am incredibly excited to announce a massive development milestone: I have officially completed and fully implemented the entire identity verification pipeline.

The app as a whole is still strictly in active development and has not launched yet, but the gates are now officially built. To guarantee a secure, premium environment, this complete security layer will be strictly required for every single user on Day 1. No exceptions, no shortcuts.

The Overlapping Layers of Day 1 Protection

Instead of relying on single points of failure, I engineered three distinct, overlapping verification checks that every user must pass before they can step into a live Pulse window:

• Email Verification: Establishes the standard account anchor and provides a reliable digital paper trail for communication and account recovery.

• SMS Verification: Pairs every profile with a legitimate, active mobile phone number, adding a critical layer of defense against mass automated bot creation.

• Selfie Liveness Verification: The ultimate filter for authenticity. Using advanced 3D liveness detection technology, the system ensures that the person behind the screen is a real, breathing human being operating in real time—completely eliminating static photos, pre-recorded videos, and deepfakes.

Security Beyond the Surface

These frontend checks feed directly into the invisible security layers I built previously. By combining SMS and email anchors with unique device fingerprinting, anyone who violates our community standards won't just have their account deleted—their hardware ID is automatically captured, preventing them from ever spinning up a new profile on that device. It is a robust ecosystem designed to let real people connect with total peace of mind.

Kova is being meticulously built to serve as the antidote to broken dating culture. Taking the time to build these hard verification systems prior to launch ensures that the community we build together stays safe, respectful, and completely real.
